about

KNTRL is a Maltese/ Berlin based electronic act that formed in the Winter of 2013. The duo consists of multi-instrumentalists Clint Spiteri & Erick Saliba. Having first met at a house party, they instantly became friends for their shared passion for post punk & new wave music. This led way to the formation of their band project, "Dolls For Idols", along with a third member Aaron Sammut (drummer). The band pioneered the Indie/electronic scene on the Island and had local success with their album, "Paste & Rave’n’roll". Clint & Erick have since moved to Berlin to pursue their careers as Electronic producers, leading them to create KNTRL. Their past direction inspired them to experiment more into the dark side of electronic music, keeping in touch with their early influences & band ideology.
KNTRL's "Night Shifts EP" is yet another highlight record for Beachcoma and shows once again our pursuit to build a roster and fan-base with a uniquely alternative direction in electronic music. The duo's super sexy lead track - "NIGHT SHIFTS" has an overall dark and menacing nature about it, with a constant evolving aura of breathing soundscapes and echoing guitar riffs, all giving driving guidance by indie rock percussion. France based electronic outfit CLUB BIZARRE, famed for their music on Days of Being Wild, brilliantly execute the reworking of "NIGHT SHIFTS" with their own special take on dance floor seduction. Keeping in touch with their own distinct style, KNTRL's 2nd song "DARK TIMES" follows up strong to conclude why we at Beachcoma admire the originality in music that stems from our fellow artists.

about

Beachcoma Recordings Berlin, Germany

We here at Beachcoma aim to not just stimulate your ears, but your fucking brains too. Techno is indeed a music of the body, but that doesnʼt mean it has to be shallow and superficial. That is why our track names, cover designs and indeed info sheets are often educational in nature.
As high school graduates, we feel it is our duty to inform as well as to entertain.
