Picture this: A dark, shoebox corner-room studio with a bible shaped window, illuminating a mere section of a table - just enough to spot the clutter of analogue machines and entangled wires. What table space remains is covered with fresh wine bottle stains and a full ashtray, one cigarette away from over-flowing. These small reminders are all evidence that last night was a good production night for Metope. This is where METOPE lives! Wearing nothing more then a
red crushed velvet jacket and a lucky pair of black silk socks with suspenders to keep them from lowering, he delightfully pours himself another glass of red merlot and with true determination, he exclaims - LETS DO THIS, BITCH!
Produced in perfect surroundings and with guilty pleasures exposed, Metope presents Beachcoma with another masterful record in the form of THE BEACON. The opening track, "THE BEACON" is the more joyful cut of the two, featuring deep pulsating bass-lines that modulate around upbeat melodies of synth stabs & airy pads. Sensual female vocal samples trim through the PHAT, making her presence known. "ICHOR" draws us closer into it's dark harbour, warning all that a storm is in sight. This is the classic METOPE signature sound that we can count on. Layered bass-lines and floor rumbling sound effects that send tremors up ones dancing-spine. This release is a great multi-purpose record, perfect for day or night.
